Literature Text

You're carrying a weight.
I can see it in your face.
It follows you, wherever you go,
Never to leave,
It's your shadow.

This burden you carry,
Draws the tears from your eyes,
Pulling you this way and that,
Stretching you to your limit.
It has a hold,
And isn't letting go.

Standing at a distance,
At a loss for words,
I'm longing to help,
But I don't know what to do.
I want to reach out my hand,
Throw you a line,
Anything to help pull you through.

Seeing the tears pour down your face,
And the hurt in your eyes,
Drives a knife through my heart.
I am one with your pain,
Drowning in the tears that you cry.

You're lost with no where to run,
No place to curl up and hide.
Your eyes have been blinded,
Unable to see,
That His loving arms are open,
And you could be free.

But you continue to wander,
In the darkness of pain.
Nothing matters to you now,
But this burden.
It's killing you,
Slowly, but surely,
You'll come to an end.
You must fight back,
You are strong enough,
I know you are.

If the burden's too tough,
And the pain too much,
I'm always beside you,
Waiting to take it all away.
I'll help you through this,
However I can.
I'll show you my love,
And pray to God it's enough.
so often in life we carry each others pain
